While filming “Pioneers in Skirts,” we had the honor of meeting Gloria Steinem. The day was unforgettable. Our first impression was how effortlessly cool she was, dressed in hip-hugger pants and a wide belt that evoked the 1970s. In her 80s, she looked remarkable.
As we eagerly told her how much she meant to us, she listened—truly listened—and replied, “We’re each other’s heroes.”
After decades of championing women and their right to pursue their dreams, here was Gloria Steinem telling us how much we meant to HER!
We walked away encouraged to keep fighting for this movie that was so very challenging to make.
As women worldwide continue to face barriers to equality, we thank Gloria Steinem for helping build a movement that changed policies and perspectives, equipped women with knowledge and tools, and inspired women to pursue opportunities shaped by their talent and hard work.
