I just finished editing my video walkthrough of the rules for Mandate of Heaven. It could charitably be referred to as "workmanlike," but, as with a workman, it gets the job done.

Mandate of Heaven has come a long way, but it still needs a little work. The demos this weekend helped me to nail down a few specific ideas that I've been trying to puzzle through on my own. My marketing department is comprised of my cats, and they are currently engaging in a hostile takeover of the play-testing department (all the pieces should be knocked off the table, and most should taste better). Got a chance to try out my latest single-player game: Tile Cutting Hero. On the higher difficulty settings, you need to find a way to cut through 80 point chipboard with minimal fingertip loss.

⭐⭐⭐ would play again.

While waiting for my (very late) demo sets to arrive from the printer, I have created a rough draft of the rules. I'm not a graphic designer, but it is definitely exciting to see all of the components laid out on a "contents" page.

I apologize for the interval, but I have been busy preparing for a live streaming demo of Mandate of Heaven this Saturday, February 10th. I will be joined by my collaborators on Tabletop Simulator to play a complete game with running commentary from yours truly. I have never streamed before, and am as terrified as I am excited about the prospect. Be on the lookout this Friday for a link to my Twitch channel, and spread the word to other tabletop nerds!

For those of you who are not following the progress on Instagram (.brock), these are the tiles that have recently been completed by Michael Lamb. These tiles come in sets, so we decided to make each set one illustration, sliced up into blocks.

In Mandate of Heaven, tiles represent your dynasty’s achievements. They are the victory point generators in the game.

The latest card from Michael David Lamb. I really love the color palette he is using.

We are trying to figure out the best way to differentiate "flavor text" (such as the Confucius quote on this card) from text that affects game-play. Any suggestions?
