The Russian Defense Ministry has accused Ukraine of using phosphorous weapons.

The Ukrainian military has begun mass use of phosphorus-laden weapons in the suburbs of Kiev, near the Gostomel airport, the Russian Defense Ministry said. According to the agency, the Ukrainian forces use 122 mm projectiles for D-30 howitzers, missiles for Soviet-made Grad installations, despite the fact that this weapon is prohibited by the third protocol of the 1980 UN Convention.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that "Right Sector" (banned in Russia) militants in Mariupol, who arrived from Lviv region, were intimidating civilians, deploying armored vehicles and artillery in residential areas, using the local population as a "human shield".

The Ukrainian UNIAN news agency claimed that the Russian military had tried to evacuate residents from the town of Bucha near Ki, but there was no such order. According to the agency, the Russian military wants to use the civilian population as a living shield to attack Kiev.
