Monster Children and presents Travel Diaries with and on this day we dove headlong into a bit of BBQ and more than a bit of music. The band’s international debut took place at around 9PM at the Monster Children Showcase at and what a roaring debut it was. Fueled by more than enough brisket and ribs from Terry Black’s, Surely Shirley played a magical set that incited dancing, flirting, and enticed a crowd to gather on the upper and lower decks of the multi-floored Austin staple. Monster Children and present Travel Diaries with as we push on into day two with just a little bit of sleep, a lot of pizza, a poem or two, and a late night party at hosted by us, which was quite an event. The music was good (thanks and for DJing) and the cocktails were stronger than we Australians were accustomed to, but we aren’t complaining. Perhaps that strength was simply the magic of living and dancing under the stars of a clear Austin, TX night’s sky, but it was probably just all the tequila in those margs. Monster Children and Travel Diaries with as they spend a week at SXSW. Following a short and easy (20 hours and turbulant) flight from Sydney to Austin, the band got up to a bit of shopping around some of Austin’s finest vintage on South Congress and Elizabeth. Off to the Monster Children x Flower Shop Austin party tonight, ignoring the travel hangovers, insisting upon the real hangovers soon to come.
