They say greatness isn't measured by how loud the cheers are at home, but how loud the boos are on the road. That certainly was the case for Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. on Sunday afternoon when they faced the Phillies after he hit a game-tying 3-run home run in the 8th inning.

Phillies fans emphatically booed Acuna as he rounded the bases after the CLUTCH play. Instead of being bothered by the Phillies Phaithful, Acuna later emerged from the visitors' dugout, extended his right arm in the air in celebration, as if it was a curtain call.

Talk about embracing the villain role 😏

After the game, Acuna explained why he enjoys the hostile Philly crowd.

“I love the fans from Philly because they boo me. So, that's motivation.”

And he certainly had plenty to celebrate.

Atlanta finished off the rally courtesy of an Austin Riley triple in the 9th inning, completing a dramatic 5-4 comeback victory and extending their lead in the National League East.

As of posting time, the Braves are 5 games ahead of the Phillies with less than three weeks remaining in the 2026 MLB regular season.

If Philly wanted to get inside Acuna's head, it looks like the plan backfired 😭

Just when you though the most exciting team was the one aiming for a threepeat, a team with blue pinstripes enters the chat to make a statement.

The Chicago Cubs have the most explosive offense in baseball right now, and the numbers over the last 30 days aren't even close.

💣 55 Home Runs, 1st in MLB

🏏 155 RBI, 1st in MLB

🏃 161 Runs Scored, 1st in MLB

📈 .830 OPS, 1st in MLB

First in every single meaningful offensive category. By a wide margin.

And the engine behind all of it is Pete Crow-Armstrong, who just hit five home runs across two games against Cincinnati, added three more against the Brewers, and is now at 39 home runs and 9.0+ fWAR heading into the final stretch of the season, that 40th homer is bound to happen.

His three-homer game with Sammy Sosa watching from the stands at Wrigley is already one of the iconic moments of the 2026 season.

The one concern? The pitching. Cubs starting pitchers have combined to allow the second-most home runs in the majors over the last six weeks. The offense can outscore anyone, but in October, that equation gets a lot more complicated. The fact that Kevin Gausman is now in Chicago helps their case to try and go deep in October.

Chicago set a National League record with 62 homers in August, and the first week of September has been more of the same.

The Cubs are 8 games back of the Brewers in the NL Central, sure. But firmly in the Wild Card race. Nobody in the NL wants to see the Chicago Cubs in October.

Chris Sale is like fine w**e. He just gets better with age 🍷🔥

The Braves ace is putting together another outstanding season in 2026, and perhaps just as impressive as his numbers is that Sale has stayed healthy throughout the entire campaign without a single stint on the injured list.

And as dominant as Sale has been, perhaps he prefers to keep things simple.

In a late-August matchup against the defending champion Dodgers, Sale delivered one of his best performances of the season, leading Atlanta to a 1-0 victory while striking out 11 batters. Two of those strikeouts came against none other than Shohei Ohtani.

Sale also reached back for a 100-mph fastball, his first pitch at that velocity since 2018. When the Braves broadcast crew asked him how he was able to do it, Sale offered the most Chris Sale answer possible:

“With my arm.”

The deadpan response had the postgame crew laughing 😂

But behind the humor is a serious ace. Sale’s consistency and dominance have provided Atlanta with a steady arm all season long.

Now, as the Braves make their postseason push, they'll need their veteran ace to keep dealing 🔥

Shohei Ohtani is enduring one of the most frustrating cold spells of his career, hitting just .137 over his last 13 games.

The superstar's sudden mid-summer dip comes right as he ramps up his bullpen throw-sessions, leading to speculation that the extra physical toll may be impacting his timing at the plate.

Despite the recent slump, Los Angeles remains in firm control of their division race, but Dave Roberts and the Dodgers will need their designated hitter back in MVP form as the calendar flips toward October. 🔵⚾️

The Los Angeles Dodgers spent the offseason building what looked like the most unstoppable roster in baseball history. And since June ended, they've gone 26-27.

Let that sink in. Back-to-back World Series champions. Shohei Ohtani. Tarik Skubal. Freddie Freeman. Mookie Betts. A payroll that dwarfs every other team in baseball. And they've been a .500 team for two full months.

The monthly breakdown is interesting to look at:

📅 July: 13-11
📅 August: 13-14
📅 September: 0-2
📅 Combined since June: 26-27

The problems are real and they're not going away:

🔹The bullpen: a 4.70 ERA, the worst walk rate in MLB at 4.78 BB/9, Edwin Díaz has blown three saves since returning from the IL and is back on the shelf again
🔹The rotation: Eric Lauer is posting a 5.23 ERA and just left his latest start early with an elbow issue. Roki Sasaki is out with a finger injury. Half this rotation is simply not good enough right now
🔹The offense: Kyle Tucker remains one of the biggest mysteries in baseball at .238 with barely any WAR on a $60 million salary

The Dodgers are still in first place in the NL West. They're still the favorites to reach the World Series. Shohei Ohtani is still the greatest player alive. And when Glasnow, Snell and Skubal are all healthy and locked in, this rotation is genuinely scary.

The three-peat dream is alive. But the Dodgers need to wake up, fast. The dream is still within reach

The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays are completely rewriting the rules of modern MLB roster building!

Despite opening the 2026 season ranked 19th and 23rd in overall team payroll respectively, Milwaukee and Tampa Bay hold the two best records in all of Major League Baseball, outperforming big-money juggernauts like the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.

Driven by elite player development, tactical bullpen management, and relentless team depth, both franchises prove that money doesn't guarantee dominance on the diamond. ⚾️🔥

Cam Schlittler has officially etched his name into the record books for the New York Yankees!

Pitching eight dominant innings in a win over the Angels, Schlittler logged his 19th start of the 2026 season allowing one run or fewer.

In doing so, the 25-year-old ace broke a legendary franchise record previously held by Ron Guidry (1978), Wh**ey Ford (1964), and Jack Chesbro (1904).

With an AL-best 2.04 ERA and over 200 strikeouts on the year, Schlittler continues to put together one of the most remarkable pitching campaigns in modern Bronx lore. 🗽⚾️

The Milwaukee Brewers aren't just the best team in baseball right now. They're playing like a team that knows exactly where they're going.

Over their last stretch of series, they've been just putting the rest of the MLB in shambles:

✅ Took 3 of 4 from the Dodgers
✅ Took 2 of 3 from the Mariners
✅ Took 2 of 3 from the Braves
✅ Took 2 of 3 from the Mets
✅ Took 2 of 3 from the Rangers
✅ Taking 2 of 4 (so far) from the Cubs

And the most fascinating part of the Cubs series? The Brewers have been Pete Crow-Armstrong's kryptonite. The NL MVP frontrunner, the man with a 9.0 fWAR, 38 home runs and the most complete individual season in the National League, has historically struggled against Milwaukee more than any other team in baseball. While PCA has been destroying everyone else, the Brewers have been the one team capable of neutralizing him.

The Brewers are 87-53, on pace for 100 wins. Jacob Misiorowski leads the NL with 222 strikeouts. Logan Henderson is posting a 2.48 ERA. Jackson Chourio is locked in. And this team just beat the Dodgers, Braves, Mets and Rangers back to back to back.

The NL is wide open. But right now, if you're looking for the most complete, most dangerous, most consistent team in the National League heading into October?

It's Milwaukee. And it's not particularly close. Now they have a simple task: play like this the rest of October and the trophy is theirs.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is having himself a spectacular 2026 season, so much so that fans and former players from other teams are taking notice.

Other than his MVP candidacy, some have even stated that PCA is making his case as the “face of baseball.”

The Philadelphia Phillies started this season 9-19. Their manager got fired. They ranked last in MLB with a 90 wRC+ entering August. And now? They're 3 games behind Atlanta for the NL East lead with a month to play.

The Phillies have won 6 games in a row and 15 of their last 17 games, pulling past the Chicago Cubs for the top Wild Card berth and pulling within 3 games of Atlanta for first place in the NL East.

The run has been built on multiple contributors stepping up at exactly the right time:

🔹 6 straight wins, 15-2 in last 17 games
🔹 Just 3.0 GB of the Braves in the NL East
🔹 #1 NL Wild Card spot, in the driver's seat for October
🔹 Kyle Schwarber, still chasing history with his home run total
🔹 Bryce Harper, 4 hits in the latest win against Arizona 😤
🔹 Aaron Nola has posted a 2.60 ERA in his last six starts, completely turned his season around after a brutal first half
🔹 Alec Bohm, Bryson Stott and Justin Crawford all contributing at an elite level in August

September is here. The Braves are right there. And the Phillies, a team that was declared dead in April, have six games remaining against Atlanta to potentially take this division.

Are the Phillies going to do it? anything can happen once September baseball starts
