On Thursday, February 15, Holocaust Museum LA hosted a private viewing for its members and hotel professionals of its latest exhibit, "To Paint is to Live: Art & Resistance in Theresienstadt." The exhibition encapsulates the profound role of art as a form of resistance, showcasing how, in the face of unimaginable adversity, prisoners were able to use their creative expression to claim their humanity. Through art clandestinely drawn, hidden, and recovered, this exhibition explores daily life in Theresienstadt, delving into the powerful narratives of endurance, bravery, and resistance through the works of remarkable artists—Erich Lichtblau-Leskly, Fred Beckmann, Moritz Müller, and Leo Haas—each of whom endured the harrowing conditions of Theresienstadt. "To Paint is to Live" is on view at the Holocaust Museum LA through November 30.
