This October 18, California welcomes a new slice of Spain as Telefèric Barcelona Restaurant Group opens its doors at The Fountains at Roseville. Known for transforming every meal into a celebration of flavor and conviviality, the beloved Barcelona-born restaurant brings its unmistakable Mediterranean warmth to the Sacramento area, marking its sixth location in California and its most exciting debut yet.

Born in the heart of Barcelona more than three decades ago, Telefèric Barcelona began as a family dream. Siblings Maria and Xavi Padrosa, inspired by the energy of their city’s tapas bars and the ritual of gathering over shared plates, built a culinary bridge between Spain and California. What started in Walnut Creek has grown into a movement of flavor, festivity, and heartfelt hospitality.

Tapas, Paellas & Passion
At Telefèric Barcelona, every dish tells a story of sea breezes, market strolls, and slow Sundays by the Mediterranean. The menu, designed for sharing, celebrates Spain’s rich culinary geography: crisp patatas bravas, jamón ibérico de bellota, gambas al ajillo, and the signature pulpo Telefèric with truffle and pimentón purée.

The paellas, cooked over open flame at a live paella station, are pure theater. From the saffron-laced Mixta to the dramatic Paella Negra with squid ink, each rice dish captures the rhythm and soul of Spanish cuisine. To ensure authenticity, Telefèric imports essential ingredients, from bomba rice to extra-virgin olive oil, directly from Spain, and hosts a team of Spanish chefs who carry tradition in their craft.

Complementing the food is an impressive 100+ bottle Spanish wine list, curated from regions like Rioja, Priorat, and Rías Baixas, along with a playful bar program featuring craft cocktails, gin & tonics, and several housemade sangrías.

A Mediterranean Haven in Roseville
Designed by co-founder Maria Padrosa, the new Roseville space is a love letter to Mediterranean design. Whitewashed walls, artisanal tiles, and warm wood accents create an atmosphere both sophisticated and inviting. Spanning 6,000 square feet, the restaurant accommodates around 180 guests, offering a lively open kitchen, full bar, and a sun-drenched patio perfect for California evenings.

At the heart of it all stands the paella station, a mesmerizing stage where chefs stir saffron rice and seafood in gleaming pans, sending out the aromas of Spain with every swirl of the spoon.

For those who can’t get enough of Telefèric’s flavors, the in-house Spanish Market offers a curated selection of artisanal products, from aceite de oliva virgen extra to tinned seafood and paella rices, allowing guests to bring a little piece of Spain home.
