Choosing yourself is a daily practice. Period.
It starts with getting honest about where you are, what you actually want, and what in your life simply doesn’t fit anymore.

These prompts are meant to cut through the crap and bring you back to yourself. To get you thinking about the life you actually want to live, not the one you have simply gotten used to. Let that sink in 💆🏻‍♀️

Which one are you going to sit with today?

So many of us put our lives on hold without even realizing it.
Waiting to join that gym. Waiting for the right relationship.

Waiting for things to calm down. Waiting for some future version of our lives to finally give us permission to fully live.
But your life is not a waiting room.

I have always had an absolute zest for life. Even in my lowest moments, I still found reasons to romanticize it. Not just the vacations and the beautiful dinners, but the Mondays, the Tuesdays, the completely ordinary Wednesdays. I never wanted healing to become another reason to postpone living.

Because at what point do we stop healing, fixing, preparing, catching up, and decide we are allowed to enjoy the life we have now? So, wear that outfit. Post that selfie. Buy yourself the flowers. Make the reservation. Use the good china on a Tuesday. Book that trip.

You don’t have to become a perfectly healed, perfectly evolved version of yourself before you are allowed to fall madly in love with being alive.

The person you fell in love with was real to you. That is what makes this so difficult to process.

But the version of them they showed you in the beginning was carefully constructed to get you invested before the real behavior started. Once you were committed, once leaving felt impossible, the mask started slipping.

This is not about you being naive. It is about them being calculated. Recognizing this is clarity, and clarity protects you going forward.

Have you ever experienced this shift in someone you were with? Wanna read my story? It’s horrifying. Get my book Becoming Your Own Love Story today - link in bio.

So much of healing, expanding and evolving is focused on what we never want to experience again that we forget to ask ourselves a much more important question: What do I actually want?

There’s such a big difference between choosing love from a place of fear, trying to avoid everything that hurt you before, and choosing from the clarity of knowing what a healthy, beautiful relationship actually looks and feels like for you.
That clarity changes everything. What you tolerate. What you choose. What you no longer romanticize or make excuses for.

My credentials? Babes, this Millennial here has only had 2 healthy relationships to date. We’re all healing, expanding and evolving together.

What is one thing you know you want in love that you have never experienced before?

Being in a relationship with an individual with a personality disorder does not always look the way people think it does.

It is not always obvious or glaring. They hide their deviancy behind a wall of superficial charm. You slowly become someone you don’t recognize because you have been so focused on managing someone else’s reality (it was pure performance!) that you lost track of your own reality.

These are the things I know now that I wish I had known then. If any of these resonate with you, pay attention to that.

If you are in a relationship right now and something feels off, what is the one thing you keep making excuses for?

The version of you who stayed too long, ignored the signs, and kept believing things would get better did not fail you. She was making the best choices she could with what she knew, what she understood.

Healing is how you go back and choose her now. It is how you give her the love, protection, and loyalty she may not have known how to give herself yet.

You are not only healing for the woman you are today. You are healing for every version of you who survived something she should never have had to survive, and still somehow carried you here.

We’re survivors. We win.

Familiar does not mean safe, and comfortable does not always mean right.

One of the hardest parts of healing is resisting the pull back toward old patterns, old relationships, and old versions of yourself simply because you know them. Familiarity can feel like home, even when that home was haunted (ok, bad analogy…let’s leave ghosts and creepy noises out of this post).

Healing is choosing yourself anyway. Every day, all the time.

Even when the familiar is calling you back (ignore it and keep working on yourself, queen).
What have you had to consciously choose to walk away from?

The ego and the soul want completely different things.
Most of us were never taught to tell them apart.

The ego is like a bratty child; it screams, it’s reactive, and driven by fear and external validation. The soul is like a wise old man; quiet, steady, and always pointing you toward alignment even when that direction is inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Starting to filter your decisions through these distinctions is one of the most practical things you can do for your healing.

Which of these three hit closest to home for you?

Everyone talks about healing practices but rarely gets specific about what they actually look like on a Tuesday when you are tired and unmotivated.

These three things did not feel life changing when I started them. They felt small and almost too simple. But consistency with small things is what actually moves the needle.

Which of these can you commit to starting today?

I spent years in relationships and situations that were subpar, not aligned with what I wanted or deserved. A couple of those looked good on paper. Were they aligned with my highest self? F*ck, no!!

How many of us care about appearances, approval, and what we think we should want? Learning to quiet that voice long enough to hear what we actually want takes time and honesty.

Because a life that looks good is very different from a life that feels good to live.
