Celebrating the life of Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson), born 100 years ago on June 1, 1926. She was an American actress and model. Known for playing comic "blonde bombshell" characters, she became one of the most popular s*x symbols of the 1950s and early 1960s, as well as an emblem of the era's s*xual revolution. She was a top-billed actress for a decade. She became one of the most marketable Hollywood stars in 1953. She had leading roles in the film noir Niagara, which overtly relied on her s*x appeal, and the comedies Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and How to Marry a Millionaire, which established her star image as a "dumb blonde". She was briefly suspended in early 1954 for refusing a film project but returned to star in The Seven Year Itch (1955), one of the biggest box office successes of her career. Fox awarded her a new contract, which gave her more control and a larger salary. Her subsequent roles included a critically acclaimed performance in Bus Stop (1956) and her first independent production in The Prince and the Showgirl (1957), for which she received a BAFTA nomination. She won a Golden Globe for her role in Some Like It Hot (1959), a critical and commercial success. Her last completed film was the drama The Misfits (1961). She died of a “probable suicide” on August 4, 1962, aged 36.

ឬបែប Classic Hollywood fan page:

Robert Redford has given us so many unforgettable performances over the years, but today I discovered a new favorite: An Unfinished Life.

A touching and beautifully acted drama about grief, reconciliation, and healing, anchored by Redford’s quiet strength and presence.

What Robert Redford film would you choose as his finest work?

Happy Birthday Clint Eastwood!! 👏💪🐎🌟🚓🎂🎉📽️🇺🇸

Celebrating the life of Frank Morgan (Francis Phillip Wuppermann), born 136 years ago on June 1, 1890. He was an American character actor. He was best known for his appearances in films starting in the silent era in 1916, and then numerous sound films throughout the 1930s and 1940s, with a career spanning 35 years mostly as a contract player at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He is best-known for his multiple roles, including the title role of Oscar Diggs/The Wizard in the 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz. An actor with a wide range, Morgan was equally effective playing comical, befuddled men such as Jesse Kiffmeyer in Saratoga (1937) and Mr. Ferris in Casanova Brown (1944), as he was with more serious, troubled characters like Hugo Matuschek in The Shop Around the Corner (1940), Professor Roth in The Mortal Storm (1940) and Willie Grogan in The Human Comedy (1943). During the 1940s, he appeared in such diverse genres and roles as an oil wildcatter in Boom Town; Tortilla Flat in 1942; a jungle doctor in White Cargo; a shepherd in the Courage of Lassie in 1946; a doctor again in Green Dolphin Street in 1948; King Louis XIII in The Three Musketeers in 1948, supporting Gene Kelly and Turner again; and as the boss in The Stratton Story in 1949. He played a fire chief in his final picture, Key to the City, filmed in 1949 but released posthumously in 1950. He died suddenly of a heart attack on September 18, 1949, at the age of 59.
