For more than a decade, I’ve been making hats inspired by the culture that raised me.

Mexican craftsmanship. Chicano style. The elegance of old Mexican cinema. The Charro, the Vaquero, the Pachuco—and the generations of style that came before us.

At Marquez Clásico, my wife and I have built our work around preserving those influences while creating something that feels distinctly our own, handcrafted here in Los Angeles.

I believe our culture can be expressed through the things we make, the way we dress, and the traditions we choose to carry forward.

My goal has always been simple:

Day two of filling our display case with some of the most iconic hats in Mexican and Chicano culture.

Today, I’m making the Lowrider Hat—a silhouette shaped by generations of Chicano style, from the streets and car clubs of Los Angeles to the old-school veteranos who made the look their own.

Low crown. Center crease. Brim turned down. Puro estilo de la vieja escuela.
