Purpose of this nub above my toilet shutoff?

Had a fence installed over the weekend and they hit a sprinkler line. They tried to fix it with two hose clamps and the blue connector but that wasn’t enough. I added two more clamps and that slowed it down, but water is still leaking a bit around the connector. What else can I try before I call my sprinkler guy?

Ever seen a water main burst up close? This is what high pressure looks like. Our crew is working hard to get this shut down and repaired. Have you ever had a pipe burst at your house?

How to Properly Install and Anchor a
Freestanding Tub faucet

I previously had a grill with a 3/8 inch line and therefore a 3/8 inch quick connect on the natural gas line out of my house.

My new grill requires a 1/2 inch line and needs a 1/2 quick connect on the natural gas line from my house.

In this picture, can i remove the reducer (blue arrow) and replace it with the female end of the new 1/2 inch quick connect? The line coming from the house and shut off is 1/2.

I tried to play it safe and have a professional do it for me but he said it should be easy for me to do, just check for leaks, etc., but didn’t mention if it would be ok for me have the quick connect that close to the shut off.

Why can’t they just make these bigger?

Don't let a small drip turn into a big disaster! Watch how we replaced this corroded sink drain and piping with a fresh, leak-free setup. When was the last time you checked under your sink?
