Frank is a 79-year-old Army veteran who had a stroke last year and now uses a wheelchair.

He couldn't keep up with his yard anymore, so it became completely overgrown.

But the hardest part wasn't the tall weeds. It was losing his backyard sanctuary.

For 12 years, Frank hosted local veterans every Saturday for coffee and support. Feeling embarrassed by the mess, he closed his gate and stayed inside.

I couldn't let that happen.
