Long before Walker, Texas Ranger and his legendary fight with Bruce Lee , Chuck Norris was already a champion, instructor and respected leader in the golden age of American tournament karate.

His black-belt team reportedly went undefeated across 29 tournaments and included some of the era’s most formidable competitors—fighters who helped shape American martial arts before full-contact karate and kickboxing exploded nationwide.

These photographs capture more than a group of martial artists. They represent an era when reputations were earned on tournament floors, techniques were tested against elite competition and future legends trained side by side.
