‼️ This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Teenage cancer warrior Will Roberts wasn’t being wheeled into another hospital for more cancer treatment.
He was being rushed there because doctors became afraid something else was going wrong.
If you’ve been following Will’s journey with me, you know the 15-year-old from Alabama traveled to California for an experimental treatment after exhausting nearly every other option in his fight against Stage 4 osteosarcoma.
But over the past several days, his family has watched one complication after another unfold.
A fracture in his spine.
Pain so severe that even powerful medications could no longer control it.
Blood in his urine.
A dangerously low platelet count that forced doctors to stop the very treatment they had traveled across the country to receive.
Now, this photo captures another terrifying moment.
Will was being transported by ambulance from one California hospital to another after doctors spent hours working to stabilize his blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels enough for him to make the trip safely.
His mom, Brittney, says finding a hospital willing and able to accept him as a pediatric cancer patient wasn’t simple.
They remained in the emergency room while doctors worked tirelessly to get him stable.
Finally, Rady Children’s Hospital agreed to accept him.
“Jason and I have been in the same clothes since yesterday morning with no sleep,” Brittney wrote. “We both had our first meal in two days just prior to leaving.”
“This has been a whirlwind, but I know there is no stone being left unturned in trying to save him.”
Imagine being 15 years old.
Imagine fighting cancer.
Then imagine being loaded into an ambulance because your family has no idea what the next hospital is about to find.
Please keep praying for Will right now.
Pray the doctors find the source of the bleeding, that his pain can finally be controlled, that his platelet count recovers so treatment can resume, and that God continues guiding every decision being made on his behalf.
