You can now view “The Stranger” on its dedicated website. Had the pleasure of scoring this thoughtful independent film that has been doing well recently in festivals. It has a lot of heart, is beautifully made and was inspired by the true story of missionary Doug Nichols. Congrats again to the team!

NYC friends: this Friday my friend Misako (who created the cover art for my True North album) is opening her gallery. The opening reception will also feature music and video from my Redeco soundscape project. Her work is awesome, worth stopping by!

Misako’s artwork embodies a profound exploration of hope and resilience, emerging from the depths of struggle, loss, and grief. Through her semi-abstract and conceptual series, she channels personal experiences into visually compelling narratives that reflect both darkness and light. Over the past decade, she has experimented with a diverse range of mediums, including encaustic, watercolor, oil, acrylic, and printmaking, each layer infused with emotion and meaning. A pivotal moment in her artistic journey came with her first photographic work, where she discovered the healing power of creativity. The process of printing in the darkroom became not just an artistic endeavor but a form of physical and emotional relief, easing her pain and guiding her toward solace. For Misako, art is more than expression — it is a spiritual journey led by God, the source of her strength and inspiration.

“Let Love Win” (jam) from our live in-studio album “Rivington ‘23”. Always a blast exploring musical possibilities in the moment and connecting with the band’s creativity when jamming on a tune. Like many of the tracks on this album, “Let Love Win” was one of our first songs released back in 2011. Was super fun reinvigorated and revisiting a lot of the earlier material. As you can tell, we had a lot of fun exploring the available nooks and crannies of each song during this session.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen to our newest live album. It was a super fun session for us as a band to play through many of our favorite tunes and we are always thrilled to share the music with you. This project was a celebration of many of our earlier songs, ones that still ring true. A lot goes into creating these projects and the moment of sharing is always most looked forward to. We hope you have as much fun listening to the tunes as we did recording them. Thanks as always for listening and we look forward to playing future live shows and creating new music down the road. Have a wonderful holiday season ahead.

Happy release day! Thrilled to celebrate and share with you our live album “Rivington ‘23” out now on all platforms. It was a thrill getting the band together for this session a summer ago in NYC and revisiting some of our favorite tunes from over the years.

Music takes many forms and one of my favorites will always be the live dynamic and energy that happens in an improvised setting between a group of musicians, be it onstage or in the studio. I had been wanting to revisit some of the earlier songs with the aim of realizing updated versions that reflect the way they’ve evolved over the years onstage. It was a joy revisiting these songs and capturing them organically “in the moment” by tracking them live in-studio as a full band (for us, the first experience doing so in a studio setting).

The songs still feel as relevant today as when they were written (some now 15 years ago). It was an absolute blast to see everyone’s musicianship give these new life. It was also great to record once again in a studio that had become a creative home for us over the years.

Music at its best is all about community. And I’m thrilled that I get to make music with such a great group of friends and for you, our community. My sincerest thanks goes out to all who helped realize this project. I hope you enjoy the tunes, performances and recordings. Thanks as always for listening.
