Thanks to the Christian Worldview Film Festival again for recognizing both the film and score for “The Stranger - Short Film.” It was great news to hear the film did well at the festival. Thanks too to the festival for sending along this thoughtful momento to add to the studio. This is the first award I’ve received for music scoring related work. A fun little career mile marker. I share this honor with J.R. Fountain whose thoughtful directorial vision and storytelling sensibilities helped shape the score. Congrats again to the entire team on also winning “Best Short Film.” It is always a joy being a part of creative teams in bringing their stories further to life through the music. Love love love this work and awesome when the projects get out there, reach their audiences and have a positive impact.

Congrats to “The Stranger” for winning “Best Short Film” this weekend in the festival circuit. My score also won a runner up award for “Best Original Music Score”. Thanks to Christian Worldview Film Festival for the recognition and congrats J.R. Fountain and team on the win!

Congrats to my friend and collaborator Christopher Tucker on sharing his short film “bird(s)”. Had the pleasure of scoring the music. One of the main cues ended up becoming a track off of my recent Redeco album. The film explores themes of identity, loss and the struggle to find one’s sense of belonging. Max (a college student) is found navigating the aftermath of harassment on campus and the loss of her friend. Experiencing inner conflict with her surroundings, she attempts to find her way forward. “bird(s)” takes a look at forging one’s path towards individuality and remaining true to self desite adversity.

Great attending GameSoundCon this year. Great to catch up with a lot of MFA colleagues, collaborators and the game audio community at large. Inspiring to be around folks who share a passion for their craft and who are doing super cool things in the creative space of games. Some of the most down to earth folks out there. Already looking forward to next year’s conference!

Great time attending the production music conference this week in Los Angeles. Great to catchup with and meet so many creatives across the production music space both on the library and composer side. Always awesome to further build community. Great panels too.

True North art has made it home. This album was my world for many years and certainly fostered a love for collaboratively making an album with others. Thanks Misako Oba :: Art for creating such a beautiful visual to compliment the music.

You can now view “The Stranger” on its dedicated website. Had the pleasure of scoring this thoughtful independent film that has been doing well recently in festivals. It has a lot of heart, is beautifully made and was inspired by the true story of missionary Doug Nichols. Congrats again to the team!

NYC friends: this Friday my friend Misako (who created the cover art for my True North album) is opening her gallery. The opening reception will also feature music and video from my Redeco soundscape project. Her work is awesome, worth stopping by!
