WHITE CHICKS 2 COMING SOON?
A White Chicks 2 movie may finally be moving closer to reality.
After the huge success of Scary Movie 6, Shawn and Marlon Wayans are once again teasing the return of one of their most iconic comedy franchises. The brothers recently opened up about wanting to revisit White Chicks, the 2004 comedy that became a cult classic and continues to trend online years later.
Marlon Wayans has said multiple times that fans constantly ask him about making a sequel, and he now feels the timing could finally be right. According to Marlon, the focus was always to bring back Scary Movie first before seriously discussing a return to White Chicks.
Now, with Scary Movie 6 reportedly delivering one of the biggest comedy openings in recent years, conversations surrounding White Chicks 2 have picked up major momentum. Many fans believe the film’s box office success could convince studios to officially greenlight another installment.
The rumors gained even more attention after actress Drew Sidora revealed she recently spoke with Marlon Wayans about the possibility of the sequel. She hinted that Marlon sounded very optimistic about the project and suggested the door could soon open for the long-awaited follow-up.
Released in 2004, White Chicks followed Shawn and Marlon Wayans as FBI agents who disguised themselves as wealthy white socialites while investigating a kidnapping plot. Even though critics were divided at the time, the movie became a major fan favorite thanks to its unforgettable scenes, hilarious one-liners, and endlessly quotable moments that still dominate social media today.
Although nothing has officially been confirmed yet, fans are more hopeful than ever that the Wayans brothers could finally bring back the Wilson sisters. And after the success of Scary Movie 6, Hollywood may be ready to give audiences exactly what they’ve been asking for.
