The project titled “Removed” by photographer Eric pickersgill aims to show our addiction to modern technology, social media, and hyper-connectivity.
The concept came to him while he observed a family sitting in a cafe, each member absorbed with their devices. Their physical closeness and emotional distance to each other couldn’t be more pronounced.
“It was one of those moments where you see something so amazingly common that it startles you into consciousness of what’s actually happening and it is impossible to forget,” Pickersgill says.
