Tuxedo Cat Moments

My Stewie crossed the bridge last Friday after a long decline. He was 18.5. Even our vet cried. He was the sweetest spirit animal one could ever have.

I need some advice. My Tuxedo Willow lost her life long dog companion last week. I mean she doesn't like other cats, only this dog. 😭 She did not get to see his body. Would it do any good to have her smell the ashes when they return? She has been by the door like this for days. She gets extra attention, treats, toys, but she is just looking and looking? Any advice?
We don't feel we can do another dog. This loss was rough and we are older.
