‼️: Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing in Henderson County in Western NC, including Chimney Rock area and areas further west!
At 935 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Impacted streams include Hickory Creek, Cox Creek, and Puncheon Camp Creek. Significant flash flooding is being reported in the Edneyville area, where a portion of Bearwallow Rd has been washed out, and at least one home has been flooded. Avoid this area if possible.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hendersonville, Mills River, Fletcher, Mountain Home, Bat Cave, Chimney Rock State Park, Edneyville, Gerton and Horse Shoe.
