It's almost that one day a year that we ask for your help keeping A R T x F M on the air! We're a non-commercial, nonprofit station staffed entirely by volunteers, but there's still a lot of stuff that costs money keeping a radio station on the air.

The world suffered a huge loss today with Dolly Parton moving on. Her early pop/girl group singles on Monument that took off in the Northern Soul scene are really just a footnote to her legacy of entertainment, philanthropy, humanity, and compassion.

You know I'm gonna play all those Monument Northern Soul bangers on the next episode of That Driving Beat, and I'll be digging out some of her country hits and deep cuts for home listening.

RIP to the pride of East Tennessee.
