📚Say hello to From the Ground Up Books and Resources! 📚

What started in the summer of 2023 became a reality when this one-of-a-kind bookstore opened its doors in October—and it’s been buzzing with creativity ever since!

Owner and author Lynn Tincher describes it best:

“We’re more than just a bookstore. We carry new and used books, local art, gifts, and all kinds of creative goodness. We’re big supporters of indie authors and small publishers, and we’ve built a space where writers, readers, and curious minds can connect. There’s even a ghost or two if you’re into that kind of thing.”

So, why La Grange?

“La Grange was always the choice. I was born and raised in and around here. This community is my home, full of my people. Building something here just felt right.”

Lately I’ve been reflecting on just how far things have come.

I get to podcast about the paranormal, run two bookstores, launch creative projects like Pixie Drops, coach indie authors, host ghost hunts, and write books that matter to me.

It’s a lot. But it’s everything I’ve worked for.

And the best part? I’m doing it with a community that shows up, supports, and believes in the power of stories.

This weekend AJ and I get to check something big off my paranormal bucket list with a full investigation at the historic Perryville Battlefield. Even better, I get to do it with some of the most amazing friends a person could ask for. I’m feeling grateful and so ready to see what the night has in store.

Poltergeists are Noisy Ghosts
One of the creepiest types of ghost is a poltergeist - the word comes from German and means 'noisy ghost'. That's because they like to throw things around, ring bells, knock on floorboards, and other disruptive things. In fact, poltergeists are often more annoying than scary!
