The White Squirrel is a student-run literary and arts organization sponsored by the University of Louisville Honors Program. We host various creative events every semester like open-mics and workshops. We also publish a literary and arts magazine every spring, which showcases the poetry, prose, art, and overall talent and creativity of UL students. Our mission is to foster creativity, wisdom, and

We are excited to announce our upcoming launch party to celebrate the next Issue of the White Squirrel, vol XXII, Between You and Me! The date of the event is April 13th, 6pm, at the Red Barn! We’ll be honoring the artists and writers for their contributions towards our magazine, and announcing the recipients of our Golden Acorn award. We’ll also have refreshments and zines for everyone.

Submit your work to Volume XXII: Between You and Me!

The deadline is 1/16/26!

Theme usage is encouraged but optional.

Any undergraduate student in Kentucky, southern Indiana, and southern Ohio colleges can submit. We accept poetry, prose, and visual art submissions. Two people from each category will be awarded a Golden Acorn Award, which includes $100 in prize money. We also have other prizes, including sweatshirts, art supplies, writing supplies, and more.

Early spring semester, these teams will meet to consider submissions and offer feedback to creators. These evaluators are crucial to our magazine process, and it is a super easy way to get involved with TWS!
