Last night, Aaron Del Mar’s son AJ and his girlfriend were downtown for the Chicago Christmas tree lighting when a shooting broke out nearby. Eight people were shot, and one tragically died on the way to the hospital. Thank God AJ and his girlfriend are safe - but no one should have to experience that in our state.

I’m grateful for Aaron and everyone on our team who continues to fight to Restore Illinois. This isn’t about politics - it’s about our kids, our families, and the basic right to feel safe anywhere we go.

Illinois families deserve better. We’re going to keep speaking the truth, we’re going to keep pushing back against the chaos, and we’re going to bring law and order back to this state.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for every single supporter who has stood with us these past several weeks. As a family, we’ve been writing thank-you cards, and with every note, we’re reminded of how deeply loved and supported we truly are. Your prayers, your messages, your encouragement — you’ve carried us more than you know.

Through everything, one thing has become clearer than ever: This Fight Matters. The future of Illinois matters. And together, we are building a movement that cannot be shaken.

The last two weeks have been some of the hardest days of Cindy’s and my life. We’re hurting, but we’re leaning on our faith, our family, and the prayers and support so many of you have shared. It truly means more than we can say.

Many have asked if we plan to stay in the race for Governor. After a lot of prayer and honest conversations, we’ve decided to continue.

We believe Illinois is worth fighting for, and we’re committed to moving forward — one day at a time.
