A cello concerto by an Australian composer has won the 2026 Grawemeyer Award in Music Composition from the University of Louisville.⁠

“A Sutured World” by Liza Lim explores concepts of mended objects, visible scars, and – ultimately – healing. Premiered in 2024, the winning concerto is the 38th winner of the award. ⁠
