91.9 WFPK Independent Louisville

WFPK is our region’s award-winning hub for independent, adult alternative music and American gems like jazz and bluegrass. WFPK introduces you to significant new music, connects you to Louisville’s best and plays your long-time favorites for an eclectic mix that can’t be heard anywhere else.

In 2002, WFPK patterned with The Waterfront Development Corporation to produce an innovative concert series that showcases local and emerging national recording artists as heard on 91.9 FM. Now in its 17th year, WFPK Waterfront Wednesdays attract thousands throughout the summer to mingle, dance and enjoy the river in a family-friendly park atmosphere.

WFPK is also host to the weekly series “Live Lunch,” which features local and national acts performing live in front of a studio audience in the station’s performance studio. Guests of Live Lunch have included Tommy Emmanuel, Will Oldham, Alejandro Escovedo, The Subdudes, Jonatha Brooke, The Decemberists, Over the Rhine, the Derek Trucks Band, Amos Lee, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and local Louisville bands Dangerbird, My Morning Jacket, The Muckrakers, and digby.
