Great article in today’s Loveland Reporter Herald about our Loveland Poet Laureate Beth Lechleitner and her new book Bear Days, that What If? helped her publish.

“Don’t do this in the wild,” Beth Lechleitner said as she posed near a bear sculpture in Loveland on Monday to talk about her latest book “Bear Days,” a collection of haibun style poems about her three weeks in Katmai National Park in Alaska, home to over 2,000 brown bears.

It's rare when I am at a networking event talking to small business owners that I don't think of ways they could write a book to promote themselves or their business. So happy to have worked with our new Loveland Poet Laureate, Beth Lechleitner, to help publish her new book Bear Days.

In this poetic reflection, E.A. Lechleitner captures her visit to Katmai National Park, home to a large concentration of Brown Bears (closely related to Grizzlies). In a Japanese poetic form known as the haibun, she gives a daily view of the lives of the bears through human and camera eyes. Prose meets haiku meets photography in this not scientific but poetically accurate portrayal of the Ursine and geographic.
