In 2024, I found myself taking fewer photos than ever before. Photography has been my creative outlet and favorite hobby since I was 10. But as I gotten older, there was an obvious lack of enthusiasm into sharing my work here on social media. I barely posted, often forgetting to edit or upload anything at all.

It’s a bittersweet realization because photography has always been such an important part of who I am.
As I look ahead to 2025, I’m hopeful that my love for photography will come back.

But here are my favourite photos of the year. Most of them were from our travels in Japan and Europe. Some taken by me, my tripod, or my human tripod (husband).

Fröhliche Weihnachten! There’s nothing like being home with family for the holidays, but exploring European Christmas markets comes pretty close. Germany sets the standard for festive holiday markets, with its amazing decorations, delicious treats, and grand celebrations, featuring everything from live concerts and ice skating rinks to the crowning of the Christmas angel.

FALLORADO IS MY FAVORITE SEASON 🍂💛

fall has arrived early in colorado yet again this year. with some leaves already peaking, we rushed to see the foliage before they’re gone. Summit County’s definitely at peak right now, and i couldn’t imagine how busy it could be this weekend. so head there as soon as you can 🍂

22 HOURS IN REYKJAVIK, ICELAND 🇮🇸

Before we flew back to the US, we had the opportunity to take a long layover to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik.

📌 Here’s a few tips when you’re visiting Reykjavik:

🚍 Once you arrive at the Keflavik International Airport (KEF), you have the option to take a bus transfer from KEF to Reykjavik for a round-trip fee of $69 USD/person. You can also rent a car, hire a private airport transfer, or take a taxi to Reykjavik. We opted the cheapest option and used the Flybus airport transfer.
🏩 Stay at the city center. Our hotel was right at the center of Reykjavik and it did help when navigating around the city by foot.
🌭 Food is expensive. Buy food from the grocery store like Bonus or Kronan.
💲Carry some cash with you though almost everywhere accepts credit cards.
💦 Skip buying water. Iceland’s tap water is safe and is in fact one of the cleanest and purest drinking water in the world.
🗝️ Buy your souvenirs at the airport. It is much cheaper as it is tax free compared to the prices in the city.
✈️ Fly direct! operates non-stop flights from different major cities in the US including Denver.

📌 TOP SIGHTS TO SEE IN REYKJAVIK:

〰️ Walk to the waterfront and see the Sun Voyager, a steel sculpture that resembles a Viking ship.
⛪️ Visit Hallgrimskirkja, the tallest building in Reykjavik. You can enter for free or pay $11 USD for the elevator to the top and see Reykjavik’s skyline.
🌈 Take a stroll down Skólavöròroustígur, or Rainbow Street. The street has lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
🏚️ Visit a few museums at the Old Harbor like the Saga Museum or Whales of Iceland.
🍦 Try traditional Icelandic food right at the city center. Check out Cafe Loki or the Reykjavik Kitchen.
💦 If you have time, you can visit Sky Lagoon, one of the geothermal pools in Iceland, that is a short drive from Reykjavik.

I was bummed that we only had 22 hours but this just means we have to come back! I can’t wait to go back to Iceland and explore the country more.

the hike’s too good not to share these photos right away. it’s officially the most beautiful hike (and the most challenging one) i’ve ever done 🙌🏻

tucked in the highly rugged mountain range in southwestern colorado, the san juan mountains is truly Colorado’s hidden gem! 🪻🌸⛰️🌼

difficulty: hard - actually the hardest since we were porters of a toddler 😂
length: 8.7 miles RT/out and back trail
elevation gain: 2509 ft - proceed at your own risk! i almost gave up 🫡
