Our Story: The Only Underground Paper in the Rockford/Stateline Area
THE PAPER is the longest-running and ONLY underground paper in the Rockford, IL, and Illinois/Wisconsin Stateline Area. Known to be edgy, humorous and a bit irreverent, it focuses on providing information on the nightlife and happenings in the area. It is distributed in almost 300 locations in the area including Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe, Belvidere, New Milford, Davis Junction, Stillman Valley, Byron, German Valley, Ridott, Pecatonica, Winnebago, Freeport, South Beloit, southern Janesville and more. With a strong reach at places adults congregate, such as bars/pubs, liquor stores, smoke shops, fraternal organizations and clubs, billiard halls, bowling alleys, adult entertainment centers, automotive and motorcycle-related businesses, tattoo parlors, convenient stores, and select restaurants, barber shops, and other locations that are supporters of free speech, it has a strong reach and a dedicated audience. And unlike other papers in the area, its not afraid to offer adult opinions, humor and information instead of catering to the politically correctness found elsewhere.
