ALERT: Harland J. Hennessey is on the final leg of his journey home to be put to rest. His procession has now left Utica, NY and is expected to arrive in the village of Boonville, NY sometime around 8:00 p.m.
The fire whistle will blow once (as though it were 12:00 noon) once the procession is heading through Alder Creek, NY.
Spectators have been lining the streets all evening in anticipation of welcoming home a North Country war hero.
Hennessey was a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII and served his country in the Pacific Theater, where he was captured and died a prisoner of war.
