ALERT: Harland J. Hennessey is on the final leg of his journey home to be put to rest. His procession has now left Utica, NY and is expected to arrive in the village of Boonville, NY sometime around 8:00 p.m.

The fire whistle will blow once (as though it were 12:00 noon) once the procession is heading through Alder Creek, NY.

Spectators have been lining the streets all evening in anticipation of welcoming home a North Country war hero.

Hennessey was a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII and served his country in the Pacific Theater, where he was captured and died a prisoner of war.

VIDEO UPDATE (courtesy of Trainor Funeral Home): The procession to bring home the remains of deceased WWII Private, Harland J. Hennessey, has now arrived to Utica, NY, where a motorcycle procession, organized thanks to the Patriot Guard Motorcycle Veterans and other groups, will join-in with the procession northbound along State Route 12 to Boonville, NY, where Private Hennessey will be put to rest in his proper place.

At this present time, the procession is still expected to arrive to Boonville, NY around 8:00 p.m. The fire whistle will blow once (as though it were 12:00 noon) once the procession is heading through Alder Creek, NY.

Of course, citizens are encouraged to line up along Main Street to welcome home the remains of a North Country native war hero.

UPDATE: The procession to bring home the remains of deceased WWII Private, Harland J. Hennessey, has departed from Rochester, NY Airport and is expected to arrive to Utica, NY by 7:00 p.m., where a motorcycle procession, organized thanks to the Patriot Guard Motorcycle Veterans and other groups, will join-in with the procession northbound along State Route 12 to Boonville, NY.

At this present time, the procession is expected to arrive to Boonville, NY around 8:00 p.m. The fire whistle will blow once (as though it were 12:00 noon) once the procession is heading through Alder Creek, NY.

Of course, citizens are encouraged to line up along Main Street to welcome home the remains of a North Country native war hero.
