Clients who cancel the morning of. Clients who show up 20 minutes late and still expect a full set. Clients who text at midnight asking for a “quick favor.”And you say yes. Every time. Because you’re scared they’ll leave a bad review or tell people you’re“difficult.”But here’s what’s really happening: You’re training your clients to disrespect your time. And you’re burning yourself out in the process.Boundaries aren’t mean. They’re professionalHere’s what a boundary sounds like:• “I require 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.”• “Late arrivals may result in a shortened service or rescheduling.”• “I don’t take appointments outside of my business hours.”• “If you arrive without following pre-appointment instructions, we’ll need to reschedule.”The clients who respect your boundaries? Those are your DREAM clients. They value your time because you value your timeThe clients who push back, guilt-trip you, or call you“unprofessional” for having standards?
