It's time for a truth bomb: Facebook doesn't like your business page.
For the majority of my clients, this is their major complaint about Facebook. The Facebook algorithm is designed to favor FB profiles over FB pages, and it's unfortunate because so many of these businesses have customers who WANT to see content from them. But how do you fix that?
It starts by understanding the difference between a Facebook profile and a page. A Facebook profile is a personal user account for an individual. This is my "Samantha" account. "Samantha" can add friends, list where she went to school, and even add her birthday to receive birthday wishes. Anyone with a personal email address can create a Facebook profile, but a page can only be created by someone with a Facebook profile (which makes that FB profile a necessity). A FB page can be a great tool for small businesses because it can educate consumers about your services, your operating hours, and current offers. Multiple FB profiles can be linked to a page, which means there are multiple people ready to respond to customer messages.
