When we start a journey towards healthy eating and focusing on our nutrition the changes need to be things we can do for the rest of our lives. This is why most fad diets create the Yo-Yo effect. We start our cleanse or whatever flavor of the month and we find it to be unsustainable. Then we revert back to our old habits in worse shape than before. Why? Because we didn’t make changes that we can ACTUALLY maintain. This is about finding what works for you. What fits your life, your plan, your goals, your everything. I didn’t lose 97lbs on accident. I found the things that worked for me and kept at them. Ask yourself this before you start any phase of nutrition or exercise planning: CAN I DO THIS FOR FOREVER? Our language around food and nutrition are vital to our success. Phrases like “I can’t have chocolate because I’m on a diet.” are terrible and create these negative feedback loops within our brains and bodies. If you are following a well balanced nutrition plan, there is no reason you can’t have an occasional piece of chocolate or any food for that matter. Approaching your nutrition as a long term lifestyle change instead of a diet or a quick fix is a minor, yet massive change that will lead you to succeed.

Goals 🎯
In Fitness , we focus on goals almost always related to more weight ⚖️, more reps 🏋️, more speed 🏃, or more endurance 🏃‍♂️.

What we leave behind are goals for the other aspects of our fitness journey. Do we have a goal for eating 🍽️? Do we have a goal for getting to the gym 🏋️‍♀️? Do we have a goal for drinking water 💧? Do we have goals for meditation 🧘‍♂️ and sleep 😴?

What about recovery 🛌? Do you have a recovery goal ?

Eating 🍽️, drinking water 💧, and getting to the gym 🏋️‍♀️ are all easy to set goals for on a daily basis!

◦ Food: Eat 3000 calories and 250 grams of protein 🥩
◦ Water: 2 Gallons a day 💧💧
◦ Gym: 1 session per day minimum 🏋️‍♂️.

What about the longevity of these? We track our bench, deadlift, and squat like our lives depend on it.

I ate 362 “perfect” meals 🥗 consecutively, about 60 days. I drank 2 gallons of water 💧💧 per day for 33 days . I hit 1 fitness session 🏋️‍♂️ everyday for 274 days 📅 straight, whether that was cardio 🏃, yoga 🧘‍♀️, resistance training 💪, or HIIT 🏃‍♂️.

REMEMBER, this is a journey 🚶‍♂️ that becomes a lifestyle 🌟.

Recovery 🛌!
I have meditated 🧘 107 times, for a total of 2918 minutes ⏱️ this year. Set goals for recovery 📈!
◦ I will meditate at minimum 30 minutes a week
◦ I will have days of active recovery 🚶‍♀️.
◦ I will actually see a doctor when I feel injured 🚑.

Set goals for all aspects of your fitness journey 🏆!

Lift heavy 🏋️‍♂️! Eat Heavy 🍔! Drink water 💧! Recover 🛌! Take care of your mental state 🧠! The gains 💪 will come!
