Partner Adam Sirkin started Liberty Uplink in 1999 to fill the need in the Mid-Atlantic region for a quality vendor satellite truck. Adam has been involved in television news for over 18 years, from the assignment desk to the field, and is the primary operator of our Liberty 3 SNG truck, based in Philadelphia; Adam also handles day to day administration of the company. Partner Chuck Ranney has been involved with mobile television operations for over 16 years. He has worked for CNN, uplinked from the Arctic Circle and international locations, and worked as an embedded satellite engineer for CBS News in the Iraq War. He joined Adam and Liberty Uplink in 2005, and operates our SNG trucks and the Liberty Flyaway, in addition to handling special projects and engineering for Liberty.

Over the past week we have supported several 'Satellite Media Tours' from the field, with our Liberty #2 truck and one of our flyaway uplink systems (when no parking was available) ;)

Traditional tours utilized a satellite uplink and telephone feeds to radio stations, but now Zoom, Skype, and SRT are also essential transmission platforms to get your message to viewers. We have fine tuned the hybrid 'SMT' approach, and having the capability to run your entire operation - from the field - not only enhances the message, but brings the tech to the client.

Chuck and Adam are devastated by the loss of our dear friend Jim Sicile. We offer condolences to his wife Kathie, the kids and Kevin. So many memories to think back on and laugh about, but for now sadness.

Yes we can!

On site at the Easternmost point of the continental United States, the cell coverage wasn't strong enough to maintain calls or communications. Fortunately, we have a solution for that problem - solved quickly without expensive satellite phones!

"THE INTERNET DOESN'T WORK."

No problem, we have you covered!

We are in the field this week at West Point, NY on an SMT - Satellite Media Tour - and in addition to traditional delivery via satellite, we were also requested to be able to provide Zoom and Skype feeds to TV stations, using broadcast quality cameras and crews.

In studio this is simple with dedicated internet service, but in the field bandwidth is never a sure thing.

We have the ability - quickly and managed in house - to establish a link between the satellite truck and the Internet, which saves the day!

A product of the Covid pandemic, this hybrid approach - traditional satellite, Zoom, and Skype - for signal delivery is here to stay.

Last week we were live from Anchorage, Alaska for high-level diplomatic meetings between the United States and China. With the low temperatures outside, we took refuge in Arctic Sushi (which has the BEST sushi in Anchorage!) for a week of news coverage. Using our lightweight 1.2 meter Ku AVL antenna and IRT solid state amplifiers, we provided 3 video paths for foreign and domestic news coverage. This system travels as baggage on commercial airlines, so we can land and be operational quickly. For reliable Connectivity Anywhere - video or Internet - when bonded cellular coverage is unknown, the smart choice is a satellite connection!

Inside our Liberty #3 van, there's Connectivity Anywhere - it's on top of our webpage! Even with the Zoom revolution and Covid-19 changing the way video is delivered, we're continuing to provide reliable satellite services - video or IP based - when terrestrial connectivity is limited and reliability is valued 📡 We are also turning this stream to YouTube for monitoring via our 'Mini-Teleport'.
