We are welcoming B.J. Finnell as our new Executive Director! On his first day on the job, he was like a sponge...just soaking it all in. We had 4 meetings to cover last night - he helped set up at 2 of them and hopped behind the camera at the Andover Selectboard meeting. B.J.'s hitting the ground running, and is looking forward to meeting everyone.

The wait is over! At long last, we have flooring! No more dusty concrete slab. It’s more comfortable, better for the equipment, and helps with the sound. We look forward to opening back up soon! Our team got lucky at last week’s gathering for the Annual Meeting of our statewide membership organization, VT Access Network. (thanks to our friends at Mt. Mansfield Community TV & WRUJ for hosting!) During the raffle Willem & BJ BOTH won raffle prizes. Wait… “who’s this BJ?” you ask. Stay tuned! Big changes coming.

Kudos to our great cleaning crew, Paradise Cleaners, for getting the floors ready for carpet installation later this week. Yesterday we cleared out so much old, outdated, and beaten gear, furniture, and other items. Another trip to the transfer station is happening tomorrow. Volunteer profile: Mike Kershaw has been a steady force with all of his volunteer support. Lately, Mike has been crushing it with the painting! We’ll be ready to open back up soon thanks to his help! Fun fact: Mike’s an excellent interior painter, as well as an accomplished artistic one. You can find his landscapes in the Silver Spoon Gallery here in .

With the high fire danger in our area, as is typical
this time of year, we thought we’d share this video we helped put together with the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department in 2019, recounting a large and challenging forest fire that had just taken place. It serves as a good reminder to be aware and remember to always check the fire alert and check in with your Town’s fire warden before burning!

We’ve had to adapt some of our operations for the time being as we renovate our facility. Today we needed to find an alternate location for a show that’s normally recorded in our studio. Thanks to Fletcher Memorial Library for the accommodations! It’s such a great historic and well-preserved building, making for a beautiful back drop. And fitting, too, because this episode was with historical writer Kevin Graffagnino, who is a former director of university libraries & VT Historical Society. Be on the lookout for the latest episode of “To Whom It May Concern” …coming soon!

Update from Okemo Valley TV & WLUD.... We're opening doors to the future! Not only do we have new rooms, including a radio broadcast room, but there are doors & everything.Things have come a LONG way since we moved into our facility in the Ludlow Community Center complex in 2013 - slowly but surely.
