🎧 A DJ’s View from the Booth: Weddings Today 🎧
Over 100 weddings deep—and I still love every single opportunity to help couples celebrate their big day. From emotional vows to packed dance floors, I’ve seen it all.
But lately, I’ve noticed something. And maybe it’s just me being more aware… but more and more, guests are showing up already tipsy before the ceremony even starts. People walking around mid-aisle with beers in hand, drinks being passed out before the ring bearer even takes a step. It’s starting to feel like the pregame is the new ceremony.
Don’t get me wrong—I’m not here to judge. I’m hired to do a job, and I’ll show up 100%, no matter what the vibe is. You want elegant and romantic? I got you. You want a wild dance floor until midnight? Let’s go. I’m there for whatever you want.
But here’s something crazy I’ve seen time and again: the amount of liquor and beer completely changes the entire night. No open bar? People are out the door not long after the cake. But throw in a stocked bar and a few signature cocktails? Folks will dance, mingle, and hang out all night like it’s a New Year’s Eve party.
I’m all for celebrating—but I guess I just miss when the ceremony itself was more sacred, more focused. Now, sometimes it feels like the drinks take center stage before the couple even does.
Every couple is different. Every wedding has its own story. I just get the unique front-row seat to watch how it’s all evolving.
💍🍻 Cheers to love, to the party, and to finding that sweet balance.
