Fire Departments I have been around a camera my whole life.

My father has been photographing and filming fire scenes for over 30 years so I grew up around it. I am also in process of trying to expand my photography past just fire scenes.

Congratulations to FF John Beck L165 who retired after 26.5 years with the FDNY. John started his first four years as a FDNY Fire Alarm Dispatcher, and was one of the radio dispatchers on the Manhattan Fire Radio during the terrorist attacks on September 11th. He went on to spend 22 years as a firefighter. Congratulations JB!

Brotherhood:

In 2021, TL-117 firefighter Christopher Carney passed away due to a line-of-duty illness. Yesterday, his son, Gavin, carried that legacy forward—graduating from the FDNY EMS Academy.
And the brotherhood did what it always does—it showed up.
Dozens of members from 117 stood beside the Carney family to honor Chris’s memory and support Gavin on this incredible day. Even the rig made it to the ceremony, after relocating due to a multiple-alarm fire—because that’s what this job, and this family, is all about.
Service runs deep in the Carney family. Gavin’s mother, Jenn, proudly serves as an EMT on Long Island. Both of his grandfathers are longtime volunteer firefighters, and his uncles have carried the torch as well— including Chris’s brother, Pat, is currently serving with L-133 in South Jamaica.

A father’s legacy.
A son continuing the mission.
A brotherhood that never forgets.

Long live the brotherhood.
