Twenty-five years ago today started out as such a stunningly clear, beautiful morning—before the world changed in an instant. I can still picture that bright blue sky contrasting with the chaos in Midtown after the subways stopped. With no trains running, I joined the endless stream of people making that long, exhausting trek on foot, walking across the Williamsburg Bridge all the way home to Brooklyn.
That day tested us like nothing else, but the way strangers looked out for each other on that bridge is something I'll carry with me forever. Remembering the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the resilience of a city that refuses to break.
Never forget. 🇺🇸

I just got a Facebook friend request from someone who is like....she’s always been like Beyoncé level fabulous IMO. Receiving that friend request left me completely verklempt. It symbolized a chance. Let me share the story.

At the age 17, I can't remember how I found out, but I learned that I had yet another older sister and was stunned—my parents’ eyes said it all before Dad finally confirmed it. I insisted on meeting her, and Dad took me and my little sister to her home.

He refused to go in and opted to wait in the car; she opened the door, and the resemblance was undeniable—tall, beautiful, warm. Her daughter was there too and she was also gorgeous.

We’ve only crossed paths a handful of times since then at a few family events. It wasn't until after Dad’s passing that I truly understood why we were apart.

My dream would be to star in tiktok dance videos that feature us dressed alike laughing and bonding. Enjoying coffee on Sunday mornings and video chatting several times a day. Lol. I know that's a lot to ask or to expect, but maybe someday, right? Who knows?
I'll take what I have today - an unexpected friend request.

My son told me to relax because it could just be somebody trolling.

But just on the off-chance that it is her and she sees this, can y'all help me welcome her with a comment: “Hey big sis.” ❤️
