The Republican Party of Virginia’s State Central Committee voted 55-17 to throw out the results of the Lynchburg Republican City Committee’s Firehouse Primary. They voted 55-17.

Per Bedford County Interim Fire and Rescue Chief:

1 person dead, 11 people were hospitalized and 11 people were treated and released on scene.

Authorities believe a strong gust of wind knocked over the tent.

The Bedford County School Board voted NOT to redistrict over 40 students in Westyn Village from Forest Elementary to Otter River Elementary.

Forest Elementary could be at 97% - almost full capacity - this fall when students return.

The division has hired Demographics Analytics Advisors to handle their county redistricting study as well.

The city of Lynchburg has hired Brad Creasy to be the city’s next fire chief. Creasy has over 30 years of experience in emergency services and is a graduate of Liberty University.

“I am deeply honored and excited to accept the opportunity to serve as Lynchburg’s next fire chief,” Creasy said.

The City of Lynchburg has selected Brad Creasy as its next Fire Chief following a comprehensive national recruitment process.

With more than 30 years of fire and emergency services experience, including leadership at the local, regional, and state levels, Creasy brings a strong track record in firefighter wellness, workforce development, operational excellence, and community engagement.

Currently serving as Executive Director of the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, he has helped advance firefighter training, safety initiatives, and fire service programs across the Commonwealth.

Creasy is expected to officially begin his role in July, following the completion of standard pre-employment requirements.

Back behind the anchor desk tonight after the game at 6 and at 11! I always enjoy these opportunities! Wearing a special tie today! This is a tie my mom’s best friend, Sharon Turner, got me when I graduated college. She was one of my mom’s many friends who helped raise me and was always with us growing up!
