Well Friends, it’s time to say goodbye. After five years on tv, I’m stepping away and into a new career. This will be a long post, so bear with me.
This is not a decision I came to lightly, rather one the Lord guided me to. He has opened an incredible door for me and made it clear, He has big plans in store.
I started this wild journey in Wisconsin, during COVID, fresh out of college. I prayed “here am I send me” (Isaiah 6:8) and minutes later (literally) my soon to be boss emailed me about an opening. (Talk about a sign).
I cannot thank my mentors and friends in Wisco enough for training me, believing in me, and supporting me every step of the way, even now. Special shout out to Mason Dowling, Brad Hanson, Courtney Terlecki, Melissa Langbehn, Sadie Fisher, Jake Sennholz, Ben Zitouni, and the rest of the News 9 crew that I love and miss greatly. And to the Wisconsin viewers that gave me grace as I learned to pronounce the geography and sports players I knew nothing about (looking at you Giannis Antetokounmpo), your kindness meant the world. All of you and the Badger State will always have a special place in my heart.
To my Virginia friends and viewers, thank you for welcoming me back home with open arms, and so much love. It’s been a joy to tell your stories and reconnect with you all.
And to my family- by blood and the ones who have become family, thank you. You have walked with me through darkness, reminded me of my worth in Christ, fought for me and with me, and truly been there every moment. I pray God blesses you as you have blessed me. I love you so much. ❤️
To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: what a ride we’ve been on. Thank you for welcoming me back when I’ve run, catching my tears when they fell, pulling back the curtain and opening my eyes to true evil and giving me the strength to fight it. The journey has been far from easy, but so so worth it. Thank you Jesus, for loving me unconditionally and taking hold of my right hand and walking with me every step of the way (Isaiah 41:13). My prayer will continue to be “here am I, send me.”
I’m excited to announce I am jumping into the world of political communications. I’m humbled and blessed to join a team of incredible people who love the Lord and share my values.
I know the Lord has brought me to this new position “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14)
Friends, if I can leave you with one request, it’s this: love one another. The world is crazy and evil enough, let our actions and words be a reflection of our Creator. Let kindness flow out of us like honey. May we be a beacon of light in the darkness, a soft spoken word in a sea of crass language, and an example of hope, in a world in desperate need of a Savior.
As I sign off, never forget:
Jesus loves you, and I do too.
Xoxo,
Britt 🩷
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24
