Here are road closures on Saturday, Sept. 27, for the Virginia 10 Miler.

On Saturday, September 27, in conjunction with the Lynchburg 10 Miler, temporary street closures will affect Langhorne Road, Cranehill Drive, Rivermont Terrace, Rivermont Avenue, Riverside Park and others.

The start/finish line of the race will be in front of E.C. Glass High School on Langhorne Road. The race course winds up Langhorne Road, Rivermont Terrace, Rivermont Avenue, through Riverside Park and back.

Associated street closures/re-openings for this event are as follows:

6:00 a.m. - Langhorne Road (between Memorial Avenue and Murrell Road) - CLOSED

7:30 a.m. - Langhorne Road (from Murrell Road to Rivermont Terrace) - CLOSED
Rivermont Terrace (from Langhorne Road to Rivermont Avenue) - CLOSED
Cranehill Drive (from Langhorne Road to Heron Hill Place) - CLOSED

7:45 a.m. - Rivermont Avenue (from Rivermont Terrace to Riverside Park) - CLOSED

9:30 a.m. - Rivermont Avenue and Cranehill Drive - REOPENED

10:30 a.m. - Rivermont Terrace and Langhorne Road (from Rivermont Avenue to Murrell Road) - REOPENED

11:30 a.m. - Langhorne Road (from Murrell Road to Memorial Avenue) - REOPENED

In addition, the Four Mile Run/Walk course will also start/finish at E.C. Glass High School and will utilize the extension of the Blackwater Creek Trail (from the Ed Page Entrance to Linkhorne Middle School). The trail extension will be closed during this time.

Here are road closures on Friday, Sept. 26, for the Amazing Mile Children's Run in downtown Lynchburg.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Mosaic Parking Lot and the Movie Parking Lot will be temporarily closed to accommodate the Amazing Mile children’s run. In addition, there will be temporary road closures, which are listed below.

1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Jefferson Street (between 7th and the Movie Lot) – NO STREET PARKING

3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Seventh Street at Commerce – CLOSED

3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Ninth Street (between Commerce and the Depot Lot) – CLOSED

7:00AM – 8:30 PM Mosaic Lot – CLOSED

7:00AM - 8:30 PM Movie Lot – CLOSED

So far, there's only one change on Saturday's events. The Fall Festival at Rock Pike Baptist Church has been postponed to Oct. 4. We'll update our weekend article for other changes if possible; however, we won't be able to update on the fly on Saturday due to the 10 Miler. So be sure to check the Facebook or Instagram page or website for each business before going to any outdoor Saturday events. Thanks!
