Nine years ago Rafael Tranquilino came to the U.S to take his musical career to the next level. He left his family, his home, and all comforts with just his guitar on his back. He knew no one, barely spoke English but he knew had a story to tell and music to share. This national tour is more than a few dates out of state. This is everything that he has worked for since he was 18. This is his American dream. We have only three days left in our campaign. Anything you can give is welcome and appreciated more than you know! We are so blessed to have the amazing fans that we do. BLUES ON!!!

This weekend, The Rafael Tranquilino Band will be traveling to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge representing the Washington Blues Society, and I just gotta say how delighted I am for them, and how proud I am to have had the privilege of recording and producing two cds for them this year. Their blending elements of soul, funk, rock, jazz, and fusion into a blues framework...and then tossing in a "jam band" flavor - (adding a little risk to the music)...is unique, exciting, and certainly something to experience both recorded AND live. Also included in that package is the remarkable voice of my business partner AND daughter (number three of four.. daughters, that is..), which brings the jazz/soul/gospel influence to the forefront.
Congrats to RTB, and TRULY, Memphis and the Blues Challenge have no idea what is about to hit them!
