Had the best pasty at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park this week.

The history of the pasty started in the 1800s by Cornish miners immigrating to work the copper and iron mines in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (the UP). It was the best lunch for the miners because it kept warm and could be ate by hand. It was also quite hardy- beef, potatoes, onions, and sometimes rutabaga.
Don't forget your gravy! Homemade of course.
