Dear Parents and Guardians:
As we approach the final day of the school year tomorrow, I find myself reflecting on the remarkable journey we have shared. While it is with a sense of nostalgia that we prepare for the final days at Olson Park, I am immensely proud of the resilience and spirit our community has demonstrated throughout this time.
Furthermore, our final Olson Park commemorative shirts were distributed yesterday. Please ensure your child wears theirs to school tomorrow. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Adcock for designing such a meaningful logo to mark this final chapter.
Our students have achieved truly impressive growth this year, a testament to their dedication and your steadfast support. To celebrate their success, our top students iReady growth will receive complimentary passes to Hurricane Harbor. Please take a moment to review your child’s folders or backpacks tomorrow, as many have prepared special mementos to commemorate our final year together.
We have a fun and exciting activity planned at the end of the day, so please refrain from picking up your child early from school. As you look toward the summer, I wish your families a safe, restorative, and joyous time. For those transitioning to Machesney, I look forward to continuing our journey together as your principal next year. I am genuinely excited to welcome many familiar faces in the fall.

Dear Olson Park Families,

As many of you know, Olson Park School will be closing at the end of this school year. During this evening's Fun Fair, we invite all families to stop by the gym for a special opportunity to take home a few remaining items from our school community.

Our Lost & Found items have all been freshly laundered and neatly organized. We would love for these items to make their way back home with our students and families OR go to a a new home if needed.

In addition, our librarian, Mrs. Moss, will have a selection of FREE books and posters available for students and families to take and enjoy.

Please be sure to stop in the gym during the Fun Fair and take a look!

Thank you for helping us give these items a good home as we celebrate the many wonderful memories made at Olson Park School.

Additionally, due to the chilly weather today, the dunk tank has been cancelled.

End-of-Year Updates and Reminders

Dear Olson Park Families,

As we approach the conclusion of the school year, we have many exciting activities to celebrate.

Earlier today, students enjoyed receiving their Olson Park mascot kits, courtesy of the OP PTA. Our students had a wonderful time assembling and naming their mascots alongside their SOAR partners. We extend our sincere gratitude to our exceptional PTA for coordinating this engaging activity for our students and staff.

Additionally, over the past two weeks, students have been busy decorating rocks to be displayed in a rock garden at Harlem High School. We would like to express our appreciation to the PTA for facilitating the donation of these materials for our creative project.

Please mark your calendars for our final Fun Fair, taking place this Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This event will feature a DJ dance party, photo booth, bounce houses, a dunk tank, and a variety of games. Admission is complimentary, and food trucks will be available on-site for those wishing to purchase dinner.

Looking ahead to next week, please note that there will be no school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

On May 27th, we look forward to our student field trip to Park Lanes for an afternoon of bowling. Please ensure that all permission slips and associated fees are submitted promptly. We are grateful to the PTA for subsidizing a portion of the costs for this excursion.

Our final day of school will be Friday, May 29th.

As we prepare for the summer break, we kindly remind all families to complete registration for the upcoming school year through the Skyward portal. This is open through the end of the month.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support throughout this academic year. We wish our students all the best in their next educational chapters.

Today is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day, and the Harlem School District wants to send a huge thank you to our incredible speech-language pathologists.

Every day, you work tirelessly to help our students find their voices, build confidence, and overcome communication barriers. Your dedication to their success shapes their futures both in and out of the classroom.
