🚨 REDFORD, MI — Three young children were rescued from a parked vehicle Friday evening after they were reportedly found alone inside a shopping center parking lot. Good Samaritans noticed the children and called 911. The children were treated for heat exposure and are expected to recover.
The two mothers were later taken into custody on child neglect allegations.
☀️ Heat Safety Reminder: Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise dangerously fast, even with windows cracked.
On a warm day, the inside of a car can reach well over 120°F within minutes.
Children and pets are especially vulnerable, as their bodies heat up much faster than adults, putting them at risk for heat exhaustion, heat stroke, organ failure, and even death.
Never leave children or animals unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time
