Project Overview
Hangzhou Xiaohe Park, designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, is a multi-use open park transformed from an abandoned oil factory site on the Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Design Highlights

1. Delicate, web-like ETFE canopy connecting buildings
2. Preserved historical warehouses and oil tanks renovated into functional spaces
3. Corten steel and exposed concrete preserve industrial identity
4. Large circular sunken garden brings sunlight to retail area
5. Blends culture, history, and urban life
6. Minimized intervention respecting historical value
7. Customized dot print pattern on ETFE canopy filters sunlight
