A VERY busy Wednesday for our NBS members! We started off by ‘stuffing the bus’ to help local food pantries collect non-perishable food donations. Then, we decorated Christmas cards for veterans while enjoying some pizza. A great day giving back to those in need and who served our country! 🇺🇸❤️

Our first field trip of the school year is in the books! Last night we traveled to Quincy to tour WGEM News - The Tri-States' News Leader. We had a wonderful time checking out the brand-new newsroom and networking with the anchors, producers and production staff. Thank you WGEM for a great evening!

Today was our chapter’s final meeting of the semester and spring induction ceremony For new members.

New members: Patrick Johnson, Andrew Ball, and Austin Pilger were inducted into the group.

Members received honorable mention certificates for their finalist submissions to this year’s national competition.

This year’s President, Emily Kenney, received a “Grand Prize” certificate for her competition submission.

Graduating members Emily Kenney and Terrance Black received Alpha Epsilon Rho memberships along with cords to wear at their graduation next week.

Rebecca Stambaugh was elected President of the chapter & Devin Brooks was elected as Vice President.

And, of course, we had cake to celebrate the occasion!

Congratulations to our WIU chapter of NBS. Students and faculty won 4 awards, including Outstanding Multi-Camera Direction (Emily Kenney), Rookie Member of the Year (Andrew Ball), and Most Improved Chapter. Students Emily Kenney and Terrance Black were also inducted into AERho, the honor society of NBS.
