Coming up on A Resounding Yes! Podcast Christina is joined by Yelena Popovic, writer, director, and co-producer of Moses the Black, an upcoming star-studded film that places the story of its titular saint in modern-day Chicago.🙏
Yelena has a long history in the film industry as an actress, writer, director, and producer. She has written and developed several projects including Passport, Greta Loveless: Greta Garbo, L.A. Superheroes, and Man of God, which tells the story of Saint Nectarios of Aegina. She is well known as a talented creative visionary by many leading Hollywood personalities.
St. Moses the Black, a fourth-century monk and Desert Father, is particularly beloved by Orthodox Christians. Prior to his conversion, he was part of a brutally violent gang. Popovic's film—which stars Omar Epps, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, and Quavo—shows a feared gang leader returning home from prison and encountering visions after being given a small icon of St. Moses the Black by his grandmother.
Keep an eye out for our conversation with Yelena and read Margaret Elizabeth Hynes' review of Moses the Black at the link below! And definitely don't miss this unique adventure of a film. Releasing nationwide January 30th.✝️
