“May is National Water Safety Month and the Red Cross really wants to remind people that drowning is preventable but it can happen very quickly and often times it’s silent,” said Suzanne Lawler, Central Georgia Chapter regional communications manager.

Drownings can happen in a matter of seconds and often without warning, which is why the American Red Cross is reminding families that drowning is preventable.
