Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe today.
I was definitely ready to finish my counting—but not ready to walk out of the nursery for the last time. 💛
To Kristen, Stacy, Jean, Haley, Elizabeth, and Heather—thank you for being the greatest mentors I could ever ask for. The parents and babies at Madison Hospital are beyond lucky to have such compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated lactation professionals guiding them through their feeding journeys.
A special shoutout to Stacy and Kristen for your passion, education, and unwavering commitment to breastfeeding. Your work in initiating and maintaining a Baby-Friendly Hospital environment is truly inspiring. It was an incredible experience learning beside you all in such a supportive and growth-minded space.
Thank you to Madison Hospital for creating opportunities for aspiring IBCLCs—regardless of pathway—to learn, grow, and reach their goals. The early initiation of lactation truly makes a lifelong difference, and I wish every hospital could model the same level of care and commitment.
A heartfelt thank-you to my employer, Alabama Cohosh Collaborative, for supporting me financially to make this goal a reality.
To Janiyah and Julius (Jr)—thank you for watching Aja and Ace during school breaks so I could keep going and complete my hours.
And a special thank-you to Tana Kae for emailing every contact she had to help get me connected with Madison Hospital.
Without all of your support, I simply could not have made this happen.
