Media Day in the 256 ‼️

With so many teams stopping by the Football in the South’s Media Day from The Shoals, presented by 1st and Sold MarMac, we wanted to highlight a couple great 3A and 4A programs in our 256 coverage area!

Each coach brought integral leaders of their team to Sheffield so they could take the stage in front of the media for some Q&A, getting their communities hyped for some 2025 High School Football!

Wildcat Talk Part II ‼️

One of Scottsboro’s many multi-sport standouts Antonio Brocks joined for his second podcast on The 256 Athlete Show!

Antonio is a standout Football player, Basketball player, and Track athlete, who was a part of plenty of Ws last school year!

For 2025 Football, The Wildcats are looking to start the year off with a bang as they take on the Fort Payne Wildcats.

For Hoops, they’ve lost a few key players, but expect even more big names to step up.

For Track, their success is very well-documented.

Golden Tiger Football is BACK and Russellville is looking to keep their historic standard rolling!

It’s year 2 with Head Coach Dustin Goodwin, who did an excellent job coming into a place used to winning and then winning some more!

Coach Goodwin and Whit Goodwin alike have joined the podcast previously to discuss their standout coaching staff and teammates. Expect big things to come in 2025!

Russellville opens the season with one of the most traditional rivalries in Northern Alabama - The Deshler Tigers.

🦅 Pisgah’s Taylor Bell

High Character & Long History of Success

While having perfect grades in the classroom is always worth highlighting first as it relates to Taylor Bell, another standout Pisgah female athlete carrying on the Lady Eagles Tradition with pride, her talents in Hoops, Cross County & Track alike make her one-of-a-kind at a High School consistently reaching greatness.

During her time in Women’s Hoops, Taylor is averaging 12 points per game and 6 assists per game, while Head Coach Carey Ellison and the entirety of Pisgah WBB continue adding onto their already illustrious history with another Blue Map against Decatur Heritage in the State title game for 2A.

For Track & XC, the success has not slowed down for her, either.

Taylor is a 4-time State qualifier for Long Jump, a State qualifier for Triple Jump, finished 2nd at Sectionals for Long Jump, and participated in the school-record 4x100 team.

For Cross Country, she is also a 4-time State qualifier, and is clearly a great combo of brains and athleticism!

Taylor has a very bright future ahead of her, continuing the longstanding athletic tradition at one of the most historic schools in Alabama!

Shoutout to one of Madison County Volleyball’s elite athletes and multi-time guest Carleigh Lanford (OH/RS) on representing The Lady Tigers with pride as a North All-Star member!

Carleigh is a United Volleyball standout who has tons of postseason and preseason honors to her name, along with multiple deep postseason runs, and Madison County also holding the rights as defending County Tournament champions! 👑

⚫️ SEASON TO REMEMBER

– Red Map, All-State honors leave lasting legacy for Hackleburg Softball

The Lady Panthers of Hackleburg Softball made waves all year at the Class 1A level, and leave behind a legacy that will be remembered by the community and in the record books all the same for their success and camaraderie.

Hackleburg was one of the best teams all year in their 1A Class, consistently viewed as one of the biggest threats to each State.

They achieved their Oxford dreams while also winning their Area Tournament and doing their jobs at the North Regional Tournament in Florence for the Qualifier Two spot at State.

At State, Hackleburg would make the community proud by bringing home a Red Map as State Runners-Up.

Additionally, The Lady Panthers would have seven players make the various All-State Teams for Class 1A!

💥 Braylynn Pope would win Hitter of the Year and made All-State 1st Team alongside Payten Herron and Bryleigh Butler.

💥 Second Team comprised of Laine Steward, Saylor Cooper, and Carson Browning.

💥 Standout Brooklyn Butler made the All-State HM team.

Best of luck to each of the Hackleburg Lady Panthers in the next step of their careers, and keep being great!
